Cheese And Crackers

_________

Notes:

1. Written and made on February 22nd, 2021
2. But unfortunately I didn’t notice until I was editing it together that I’d messed up with the shadows on the desk near the end
3. So now I’m mildly annoyed at ruining things
4. Even more than I usually ruin things

If you like the things you've read here please consider subscribing to my patreon or my ko-fi.

Patreon subscribers get not just early access to content and also the occasional gift, but also my eternal gratitude. Which I'm not sure is very useful, but is certainly very real.

(Ko-fi contributors probably only get the gratitude I'm afraid, but please get in touch if you want more).

Thank you!

Tale #129: The Playgrounds Of Our Youth

We used our old teeth as dice
kept score on sloughed skin
And the board on which we played
we marked out on the ground
in freshly spilt blood
barely diluted by our tears

An earlier world

There was a time
there is always a time
when you were happy

And you see it clearer
brighter
louder
with every passing day
that drifts
clean
away

It takes on the form
the mythic scope
of a utopia

And you would give anything
to get back there
to get back
to a life
that life
that vibrant fucking life

But you can’t go back there
because it never existed
and when you were there
it was another
earlier
world
that you wanted
