They live lives that might as well have been granted
by some fairy tale ring
Unlimited riches
impunity from the law
immortality
Yet instead of gratitude
generosity
any hint of joy
All they seem to feel is misery
and resentment
in the bitter petty emptiness
of their infinitely withered hearts
