Excerpts from my diary (September 2025)

Monday 1st September, 2025

An empty aimless day

Tuesday 2nd September, 2025

Coughing
spluttering

Wednesday 3rd September, 2025

I should try
something
at some point

But instead I try
nothing
at all

Thursday 4th September, 2025

Coughing again

Friday 5th September, 2025

This diary
has been
a failure

Saturday 6th September, 2025

Blistered thumbs
from playing Silksong
too much

Sunday 7th September, 2025

There was a lunar eclipse
hidden
behind endless clouds

Tuesday 9th September, 2025

It was hot
and there were squirrels in the park
looking pretty pleased
with all the acorns
on the ground
and in their paws

Wednesday 10th September, 2025

My pen is running out

Thursday 11th September, 2025

There was one single burst of thunder
and that was it

Friday 12th September, 2025

Nearly finished Silksong (I think).

Everything left to do is
impossibly hard
and not much
fun

Saturday 13th Septmeber, 2025

Strange lumps
and cuts
on my fingers today

Sunday 14th September, 2025

So cold today
I shivered
for two hours
straight

Monday 15th September, 2025

It was windy. I stayed indoors

Tuesday 16th September, 2025

Silksong just goes on and on. I’m not sure if this a good thing
or not

Thursday 18th September, 2025

Another day where I have
nothing to say
about anything
at all

Saturday 20th September, 2025

Silksong loses all momentum in the final act
begins to feel
like a slightly joyless slog

Monday 22nd September, 2025

The elegance of an egret
impresses me
again

Tuesday 23rd September, 2025

I saw a crow
flying up high
and dropping walnuts
in the road

Thursday 25th September, 2025

Just the final boss in silksong left to do
after nearly a month
and a hundred hours
and more

Saturday 27th September, 2025

Still can’t beat that final bloody boss

Sunday 28th September, 2025

Two crows on the roof
feathers fluffed up so much
they look almost
round

Monday 29th September, 2025

A black and white cat
surrounded by magpies
seemingly curious as to whether
it’s one of their own

(Also finally finished Silksong today)

Tuesday 30th September, 2025

Egrets and cormorants
on the river
in weather that felt like spring
