\u201cIt\u2019s cold,\u201d said Tina.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really cold,\u201d said Claire.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s too<\/em> cold,\u201d said Ethel.<\/p>\n

Daniel\u2019s teeth chattered and his face went blue.<\/p>\n

\u201cI told you all it wasn\u2019t the weather for ice cream,\u201d Agnes said with a sigh, as she paid the ice cream van driver and ushered the children back inside.<\/p>\n

A Winter\u2019s Night<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sixteen hours of dark, and all of it silent. Softly floating snow making rainbows as it falls, the colour of moonlight, the colour of streetlights, the colour of headlights, the colour of fairy lights put up for Christmas and never taken down. <\/p>\n

Three months later and they still don\u2019t look out of place. Winter deadens time like snow swallows sound. Purgatorial beauty. <\/p>\n
