{"id":1517,"date":"2019-07-26T10:59:31","date_gmt":"2019-07-26T10:59:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/things\/?p=1517"},"modified":"2019-01-16T20:23:18","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T20:23:18","slug":"tale-65-and-in-their-ships-they-sailed-out-across-the-sea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/things\/2019\/07\/26\/tale-65-and-in-their-ships-they-sailed-out-across-the-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"Tale #65: And in their ships they sailed out across the sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In seven ships they sailed out across the sea to search for new lands to conquer.<\/p>\n<p>The King\u2019s ship sank first, struck by lightning in a storm, followed soon by the Lords\u2019 vessel, and the Ladies\u2019 too, both of which were lost to the waves of the tempest that raged on and on through the night.<\/p>\n<p>After that a silence that stretched out across the days.<\/p>\n<p>The soldiers\u2019 ship went next; in the calm after the storm, with no wind to move their sails, mutiny smouldered, civil war took, and up it all went in a blaze of self-destruction, death and despair.<\/p>\n<p>The priests\u2019s ship crashed upon hidden rocks. The merchants\u2019 vessel was waylaid by pirates.<\/p>\n<p>All that was left of the fleet now was the ship of slaves, of servants, of maids.<\/p>\n<p>They came soon to land and settled quietly there.
