It&#8217;s me!&#8221; turn to the camera when he sees the scene from his past).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/scrooge003s.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"429\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-888\" srcset=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/scrooge003s.png 800w, https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/scrooge003s-300x222.png 300w, https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/scrooge003s-768x568.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Because it&#8217;s so short, this is fairly slight all round, but it&#8217;s pretty charming nonetheless, and I like how utterly delighted the children in Bob Cratchit&#8217;s scene seem to be. I was also kind of surprised to see the word &#8216;Xmas&#8217; here, but apparently that&#8217;s hundreds of years old and not some relatively modern invention like I&#8217;d obviously previously assumed. Maybe X isn&#8217;t quite the futuristically cool letter I&#8217;d always thought it to be.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/deathofpoorjoe001s.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"588\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-889\" srcset=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/deathofpoorjoe001s.png 800w, https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/deathofpoorjoe001s-300x221.png 300w, https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/deathofpoorjoe001s-768x564.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now, while <em>Scrooge<\/em> was the oldest <em>Christmas Caro<\/em>l adaptation, the oldest Dickens film is the (very short) <em>Death Of Poor Joe<\/em>, which was made a year or so earlier, in 1900.
