I have no idea how realistic a scenario this was in 1920, but these days it&#8217;s basically science fiction, isn&#8217;t it?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/oneweek007s.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"434\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-657\" srcset=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/oneweek007s.png 800w, https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/oneweek007s-300x224.png 300w, https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/oneweek007s-768x574.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This was the first actual film Buster Keaton released as the lead star (but the second made, after <a href=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/2022\/02\/01\/the-high-sign-1920\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The &#8216;High Sign&#8217;<\/a>), and it&#8217;s pretty much incredible from start to finish. Buster&#8217;s love of absurdly elaborate houses with trapdoors and pulleys and levers everywhere continues on from The &#8216;High Sign&#8217; unabated, while some of his old favourite jokes from the Fatty Arbuckle films are brought back but done so well you don&#8217;t mind at all.<\/p>\n<p>And the scale of the last couple of set-pieces is impressive even now, so god knows how mind blowing they were in 1920.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/oneweek006s.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"660\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-656\" srcset=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/oneweek006s.png 800w, https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/oneweek006s-300x248.png 300w, https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/oneweek006s-768x634.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Pretty mind blowing, probably.<\/p>\n<p>__________<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> <em>I watched this on blu-ray again, but grabbe dthe screenshots from this version on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=QBGBj6cse1M\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">youtube<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> <em>I actually watched this back <a href=\"https:\/\/accumulationofthings.com\/100\/2020\/05\/13\/one-week-1920\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in 2020<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> <em>Actually doing my duty and watching things that were 100 years old.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>4.<\/strong> <em>Instead of 102 years old.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>5.<\/strong> <em>Or more.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>6.<\/strong> <em>Anyway I&#8217;m not sure why that review was so subdued<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7.<\/strong><em> Maybe something terrible had happened in 2020 I cannot remember.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>8.<\/strong> <em>But at least now everything is okay it&#8217;s alright everything is fine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>__________<\/p>\n<p><strong>Film Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Title:<\/strong> <em>One Week<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>Director:<\/strong> <em>Buster Keaton; Edward F.
