These are various films by the Lumiere Brothers featuring cats. Lots and lots of lovely cats.<\/p>\n

These are all about a minute long, and each (except possibly the boxing match one) prove beyond doubt that cats were basically exactly as delightful a hundred years ago or more as they are today. <\/p>\n

Which is a very nice thing to prove, really.<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> I watched these on youtube: Repas Des Chats<\/a>; Dejeuner Du Chat<\/a>; Les Chats Boxeurs<\/a>; \u00c9quilibre Et Moulinet<\/a>; La Petite Fille Et Son Chat<\/a>. <\/em><\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> And tried to work out the actual years they were from from this wonderful Lumiere Brothers website<\/a>, as I’m not sure I trust the youtube titles entirely I’m afraid.<\/em><\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> Also I couldn’t find all of these on that site, so don’t even know if all of these are actually Lumiere Brothers films at all.<\/em><\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> But hopefully they are.<\/em><\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> Also what I was actually looking for was Le Chat Qui Joue<\/a>, another Lumiere Brothers cat film from 1897, which was mentioned in this Sight And Sound obscure cinematic gems<\/a> article.<\/em><\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> But which unfortunately I can’t find anywhere at all.<\/em><\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> And the Blu-Ray<\/a> it might be on costs \u00a325.<\/em><\/p>\n

8.<\/strong> Which is kind of a lot (for me).<\/em><\/p>\n
